About Me

Greetings! This is Coach Rhadiyah (Arabic name, pronounced Rod-ee-yah, which means all pleasing) Hutchen, the creator of the Understanding Candida website. Believe it or not, I currently reside between the Gambia, and Egypt where I share my life with my husband for more than 15 years, our five children, a foster son Uthman 19, a daughter, Asmah 14, a son, Usamah 12, another son Abdur-Rahman 9, and daughter, Habibah 4.

As an enthusiastic advocate of natural health care, I began encouraging and counseling other women to seek natural solutions to their health conditions during the course of and upon completion of formal studies.

At present, I work from home, often in my family room. I obtained my knowledge in health related issues from a combination of my personal experience, the experiences of others, independent study, and formal studies as well. I currently possess a Master’s in Counseling from Capella University , a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Work from Union Institute & University ; a Natural Childbirth Educator, formerly of the Bradley Method®, a Certified Full Spectrum Reflexologist, from the Modern Institute of Reflexology and a Professional Certification in Health Coaching from MLMU University . It is my prayer to add a Naturopathic Doctorate Degree to that of my formal education, as well as opening a health food store, Lord-willing.

The wonderful thing about this whole journey is that I don’t work a regular 9-5, praise God! With all of my housely, motherly and wifely duties, who has the time?!
