Private Childbirth Education

Childbirth Education designed to fit your needs and schedule in the privacy of your own home, via webinar. You may bring your spouse, and/or whoever else may be attending your birth. Whether you are expecting your first child or in need of a refresher course to prepare for another addition to your already existing family. It is encouraged that you begin your classes in your 6th month of pregnancy. Classes are for 12 weeks, meeting approximately for 3 hours each class. It is encouraged that if you do have existing children that you include them in some of the classes. Some of the topics we will discuss are:

  • techniques to help mom face the challenges of giving birth
  • breathing and relaxation techniques
  • positive communication
  • nutrition
  • breast feeding instruction
  • Stages of labor
  • post partum and infant care
  • labor rehearsal to prepare you for the big day.

Below is a brief excerpt of what will be discussed in each class.

Class 1 Introduction

Gestation, ways to keep mom healthy and low risk, introduction of pregnancy exercises, and effective ways of dealing with pain.

Class 2 Nutrition

Nutrition, herbs, diet evaluation, pregnancy exercises; intimacy during pregnancy, breastfeeding and more on ways mom can stay healthy and low risk.

Class 3 Pregnancy

Body changes, anatomy and physiology, common discomforts, and birthing choices.

Class 4 Role of the Partner

Role of a birthing partner, importance of natural childbirth, bonding and the role of the father in breastfeeding; staying low risk, drugs, myths and birthing.

Class 5 First Stage of Labor

How your body works in first stage, anatomy and physiology of first stage; coaching techniques, standard hospital procedures.

Class 6 Second Stage of Labor

How your body works in second sage, the anatomy and physiology of second stage, the natural alignment plateau and the fetal Heimlich maneuver. Pushing techniques, second stage labor positions, and the birthing partner’s role.

Class 7 Planning Your Birth

Birth plan, birthing choices, meeting with your medical team to discuss your choices. First stage labor rehearsal.

Class 8 Variations and Complications/Postpartum Preparation

Cesareans and how to avoid them and taking care of yourself and baby upon the arrival of the baby.

Class 9 Advanced First Stage Techniques

Handling first stage labor, and a labor rehearsal, as well as some role playing.

Class 10 Advanced Second Stage Techniques

Labor rehearsal and review.

Class 11 Birth Attendant, Are You Ready?

The B.E.S.T. techniques for labor and birth as a comprehensive review of the most important points you will need to use while in labor, and emergency childbirth.

Class 12 Preparing for Your New Family

Advanced labor rehearsal, newborn care, mothering, fathering; breastfeeding, a colicky baby, and adjustments.
